1. Multiplication Tricks

Near Base 100 (Nikhilam)

Example: 97 × 94

Deviations: 97 is (-3), 94 is (-6)
Left Part: 97 - 6 = 91
Right Part: (-3) × (-6) = 18
Answer: 9118

Vertically & Crosswise

Universal method for 2-digit

Step 1: Multiply units (Vertical)
Step 2: Cross multiply & add (Crosswise)
Step 3: Multiply tens (Vertical)

2. Squaring Shortcuts

Numbers Ending in 5

Example: 85²

First part: 8 × (8+1) = 72
Last part: Always 25
Answer: 7225

Base Method (Near 50)

Example: 46²

Difference from 50 is -4
25 - 4 = 21 (First part)
4² = 16 (Last part)
Answer: 2116

3. Division & Fractions

Butterfly Method (Fractions)

Example: 1/3 + 1/4

Cross Multiply: 1×4 + 1×3 = 7
Bottom: 3×4 = 12
Answer: 7/12

Checking Divisibility by 9

Add all digits. If sum is divisible by 9, the number is divisible by 9.

4. Special Tricks

Multiply by 11

Example: 23 × 11

Split the digits: 2 _ 3
Add them: 2+3 = 5
Place in middle: 253
Answer: 253

Magic of 9

To multiply by 9, multiply by 10 and subtract the number.
Example: 14 × 9 = 140 - 14 = 126
